Background and description:
The foundation for the band was laid, thanks to, or because of, as you like, a 60s gala that we within the Henriksson family arranged in Nora on 28/11 2010. Admission was free. It came approx. 50-60 people.

Jonas, Lars-Göran Vinger, Markku Julin and I played, one time each, to backing tracks.
The band The Skylines, which was the attraction of the evening, played classic guitar songs and some of the slightly unusual kind. It became very popular and successful. The Skylines consisted of Patrik Lindberg on guitar, Daniel Holm on guitar, Markku Julin on bass and Peter Bergkvist on drums.

That evening we met Anders Moberg from Vretstorp, who asked if we, Jonas and I wanted to play with him, which we obviously were. Anders played bass and we met at home a couple of times before we thought it was time to get a drummer. I asked Johnny Öster, whom I knew at a time when he worked in the music store in Nora, and he came up with the idea.

At the beginning of January 2011, we met for the first time, then in Musikens Hus (The House of Music), where Johnny had a rehearsal room. It worked well, and Johnny later introduced Stefan Moell, who knew how to play Johnny Guitar and Foot Tapper among others. And that’s the way it is. We had some name suggestions on the band but decided on The Spaceriders. We thought it sounded a bit Spotnick related and most of the repertoire was and is Spotnicks songs.

In the spring of 2011 Johnny quit but occasionally joined in the vocals when we played outside. Albin Ström came to replace him. The first gig we had was in Uskavi, outside Nora, on July 17th. It was really fun, and until this year we have had just over 60 gigs, mostly at nostalgia places but also at private parties and car meetings etc.
Albin left the band in the autumn of 2016 and was replaced by Kjell Arne Persson, on drums and vocals, in the spring of 2017.

I, Mats, first heard The Spotnicks in 1969/70 when my big brother and I were visiting a neighbor. He played the Karussell Kavalkad, the green LP, with Ghostriders In The Sky and Old Clock At Home among others. There I became a Spotnicks fan forever, and learned to play the guitar at the age of 10, inspired by The Spotnicks. Funny that Jonas also became found of Spotnicks but that’s how the children grew up with The Spotnicks and other guitar bands and like it. By the way, Jonas started playing guitar when he was seven years old.

A special memory with The Spotnicks:
Jonas also got the chance to play a song (Moonshot) with The Spotnicks when they visited Nora on July 14, 2012. What an experience.
The first time I saw The Spotnicks live was in Degerfors on March 31, 1984. It was an incomparable experience and, after the show to meet the idols in person and get the autographs, it was a special moment, I will never forget.
There were many live performances I/we went to and it was always so fantastic. The last gig in Gothenburg on March 30, 2019, became very emotional for many of us, but the memories and music live on.

For the most part songs by The Spotnicks, The Shadows and The Ventures but also own compositions and a few other goodies in instrumental or vocal elements.
