In 2015, Karl-Gustav Örtlund was replaced by Kenneth Lindholm (71 years old) on vocals and guitar

Background and description:
The band was formed in 2002 and then had Kristinehamn in Värmland as our home. Nowadays we have Lidköping as domicile because we use to practice there.
After a gig at Hedefors Café in front of the members of Spotnicks’ fan club, a journalist wanted to know the name of our band.
We then had nothing but had to come up with one during the 25 miles on the way home during the night. It then became a strange translation of the landscape Värmland = HOTLANDERS®.
The band then consisted of four members. In total, there have been ten people who have been involved.

Initially, the idea was that Kalle would play Shadows songs and Lennart Spotnicks songs.
When Kenneth turned out to play many Spotnicks songs with bravura, we dropped the idea.

We play live and meet our audience that way. Recently, there have also been some recordings and we have right now (September 2020) a song on Radio Spotnicks’ top list and some melodies are released on Carelia Records.

Equipment:
Lennart had Göran Holén to rebuild the Fender with active mics and he uses an echo/reverb made by the same man. The Fender super sonic 22 that is transferred out in PA gives the final sound.
Kenneth uses Fender guitars, Lexicon MPX G2 effects and Fender Super 60 amplifiers.
Ola plays at Fender and Arvidsson basses.
Jonny’s drums are made by Remo.

Repertoire:
With a few exceptions for a few melodies, we have not played anything other than Shadows and Spotnicks as we started in 2002 because we had it with us in our luggage from the 60’s.
Favorite songs for Lennart’s are: Moonshot, Havah Nagila, Ghostriders In the Sky, Last Date, Amapola, Johnny Guitar, Karelia, I Remember You, Just Listen To My Heart, Hang On, Ol´ Man River and La Rosita. The last three when Kenneth is in the lead.
Ola prefers the Shadows songs from the older recordings. Jonny wants to play the ”classic” Spotnicks and Shadows.
Kenneth likes to play old Shadows and Spotnicks songs and a little Cliff Richard.

Background and description:
I (Bernt) have been interested in Spotnicks since the first time I heard THe Old Spinning Wheel back in 1961.
I had a band in the 60’s where we played dance music around central Sweden and the border areas in Norway. We already had some Spotnicks songs and also songs by Shadows.

Besnaz was formed in the spring of 2013. The name comes from the fact that we have our rehearsal room in Bäsna community center.
We then had Ingemar Lindström on bass. He has a distinct Stockholm dialect and could not pronounce the letter ”ä”. He always said Besna and then the band’s name got to be like that.

From 2018, we now have Anders Jansson on base. Anders and drummer Ove have both played in dance bands in the 70s and 80s.

We play a lot at pensioner meetings and nostalgia days. We have also participated in the Spotnicks Festival at Apple hotels (2017) and Backa Folkets hus (2018) in Gothenburg and has also played with the Cadillac Band.

We have recorded two CDs. The first with the title ”Just listen to my heart” 2016 and ”The Besnaz on Wheels” in 2020 and also had several songs on Radio Spotnicks’ top list.

Solo guitar: Fender Stratocaster, Vox AC 30, (Boss Katana 100), Hall & Collins signature echo.
Rhythm guitar: Fender Sstratocaster, Boss Katana 100.
Bass: Fender P-bass and Mustang
Drums: Tama or Ludvig from 1965.

Repertoire:
Our repertoire includes songs by The Spotnicks (about 12) and The Shadows (about 25) but also by Violents and
Ventures. Occasional songs from other bands too.
Favorite songs among Spotnick’s songs are Amapola, Johnny guitar, Karelia and Old spinning wheel.

Background and description:
The foundation for the band was laid, thanks to, or because of, as you like, a 60s gala that we within the Henriksson family arranged in Nora on 28/11 2010. Admission was free. It came approx. 50-60 people.

Jonas, Lars-Göran Vinger, Markku Julin and I played, one time each, to backing tracks.
The band The Skylines, which was the attraction of the evening, played classic guitar songs and some of the slightly unusual kind. It became very popular and successful. The Skylines consisted of Patrik Lindberg on guitar, Daniel Holm on guitar, Markku Julin on bass and Peter Bergkvist on drums.

That evening we met Anders Moberg from Vretstorp, who asked if we, Jonas and I wanted to play with him, which we obviously were. Anders played bass and we met at home a couple of times before we thought it was time to get a drummer. I asked Johnny Öster, whom I knew at a time when he worked in the music store in Nora, and he came up with the idea.

At the beginning of January 2011, we met for the first time, then in Musikens Hus (The House of Music), where Johnny had a rehearsal room. It worked well, and Johnny later introduced Stefan Moell, who knew how to play Johnny Guitar and Foot Tapper among others. And that’s the way it is. We had some name suggestions on the band but decided on The Spaceriders. We thought it sounded a bit Spotnick related and most of the repertoire was and is Spotnicks songs.

In the spring of 2011 Johnny quit but occasionally joined in the vocals when we played outside. Albin Ström came to replace him. The first gig we had was in Uskavi, outside Nora, on July 17th. It was really fun, and until this year we have had just over 60 gigs, mostly at nostalgia places but also at private parties and car meetings etc.
Albin left the band in the autumn of 2016 and was replaced by Kjell Arne Persson, on drums and vocals, in the spring of 2017.

I, Mats, first heard The Spotnicks in 1969/70 when my big brother and I were visiting a neighbor. He played the Karussell Kavalkad, the green LP, with Ghostriders In The Sky and Old Clock At Home among others. There I became a Spotnicks fan forever, and learned to play the guitar at the age of 10, inspired by The Spotnicks. Funny that Jonas also became found of Spotnicks but that’s how the children grew up with The Spotnicks and other guitar bands and like it. By the way, Jonas started playing guitar when he was seven years old.

A special memory with The Spotnicks:
Jonas also got the chance to play a song (Moonshot) with The Spotnicks when they visited Nora on July 14, 2012. What an experience.
The first time I saw The Spotnicks live was in Degerfors on March 31, 1984. It was an incomparable experience and, after the show to meet the idols in person and get the autographs, it was a special moment, I will never forget.
There were many live performances I/we went to and it was always so fantastic. The last gig in Gothenburg on March 30, 2019, became very emotional for many of us, but the memories and music live on.
